Last week, Imagine! had the honor of celebrating the incredible work of our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with a week full of appreciation, gratitude, and joy. These dedicated individuals are the backbone of our mission, working tirelessly every day to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build the lives they’ve always dreamed of. From meals to team-building activities to custom cookies, we pulled out all the stops to show them how much we value them!
A Week of Gratitude
Throughout the week, we created a variety of opportunities to recognize and thank our DSPs for their hard work. We kicked off the celebration with catered meals, ensuring our staff had a chance to relax, enjoy delicious food, and bond with colleagues. Breakfast and lunch spreads, as well as a dinner at the end of the week, were offered and provided not only nourishment but also a chance to connect and recharge.
Sweet Treats to Savor
To add some extra joy to the week, we treated our DSPs to an array of sweet treats. Custom cookies from the Sugar Cookie Store in Erie, candy, Pringles, and other goodies were handed out by the Executive Team to each of the Imagine! locations. It was a small gesture to say “thank you” for the immense care and compassion Imagine! DSPs provide.
Building Stronger Teams
One of the highlights of the week was our team-building exercises. These activities were designed to strengthen relationships among our staff, foster collaboration, and create an environment where DSPs could unwind and have fun. From rollerblading to axe throwing, it was heartwarming to see the camaraderie and laughter shared by our teams.
Thank You, DSPs!
Our Direct Support Professionals make an incredible difference in the lives of the people we serve, and last week’s celebration was a small way for us to give back. We are so thankful for their passion, hard work, and endless compassion, and we look forward to continuing to support them in their vital roles. The positive impact they make each day doesn’t go unnoticed—our entire organization and the people we serve are grateful for all they do!
