Today, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Trina Gebhart, the new Executive Director of the Imagine! Foundation, to learn more about her background, vision, and the exciting plans she has for the future of the Imagine! Foundation. Trina brings a wealth of experience and passion for fundraising, event planning, and creating inclusive, supportive communities. We’re excited to see where her leadership will take the Imagine! Foundation and the communities we serve.
What inspired you to work for Imagine!?
I have a son with special needs, and I know first had what it is like to require services and supports for a loved one. I desire for people regardless of age or ability to have the best quality of life possible and to be part of an inclusive community.
What are your plans for the Imagine! Foundation?
I look forward to representing the organization and fundraise so that we can fulfill the dreams of our organization and the clients we serve.
What are you looking forward to working on?
I’m looking forward to planning a spectacular 25th Imagine! Celebration event and looking forward to using my creativity in a capacity that helps raise necessary funds to support the organization.
What do you hope to achieve in the next six months?
I want to get to know those that are closest to Imagine! and the work we do. I desire to learn their stories so that I can become fluent and be able to share those stories. Ultimately my goal is to help our community wrap their arms around Imagine!
What do you like to do to avoid burnout?
Recently I have discovered Disney Pin trading. It’s awesome. Look it up. Disneyworld is my happy place where I can “check out” of life. But when I am not working to support my Disney pin trading habit I can be found elbows deep in glitter and all things crafty OR mindless scrolling Instagram.
What is your favorite food?
I love a good deep dish pizza or anything with queso and guacamole.
What is something people might find surprising about you?
I once won 2nd place in the Albuquerque Gem and Mineral Show.
I can also do a mean Louis Armstrong impression.
