Mask Makers Make Masks For Imagine!

As we move toward fewer COVID-19 related restrictions and start our recovery plan at Imagine!, one need has become very apparent: masks and face coverings. Fortunately, we have a community that is ready and willing to help. Here’s two examples:

Judy Delaware, a feeding therapist who provides Early Intervention services for Imagine!, is part of a Facebook group called “Enclave Does our Part CO-COVID19 Response.” Enclave is the street she lives on in Louisville, and Judy gets cloth donations and her neighbors and fellow group members make masks and donate them to organizations in need. So far, they have donated 145 masks and they are working on the rest to get us 450 in total! Some of their masks are pictured above.

And Imagine! employee Matt Barnert reached out to the clothing company Stellari to see about mask donations. The Stellari story is one that could only take place in 2020: they had planned to launch their company this summer, but when the pandemic hit, they pivoted quickly to making masks, because it would “help keep our partners in business, and at the same time, efficiently produce cloth masks for low-risk settings. We are passionate about our partners, community, and this seemed like the best way to help as a pre-launch startup.” Thanks to Matt’s outreach, one of the community organizations they have generously agreed to support is Imagine!, and they are sending us 500 masks!

Thank you Judy, the Enclave team, and Stellari! We appreciate your willingness to help us create a world of opportunity for all abilities, even during this difficult time.
