Welcome Kathryn Arbour

The Imagine! Board of Directors is delighted to announce that Dr. Kathryn Arbour has accepted the position as Imagine!’s CEO. Dr. Arbour will be replacing Rebecca Novinger, who is stepping down from the position to focus on her family.

Dr. Arbour most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Tennyson Center for Children, for six years.

 

She has held executive leadership positions at Fortune 500 corporations in the U.S., including Travelers Insurance, Smith Barney, and Kaiser Permanente. Prior to founding and launching Capabilities, a retail operation that focused on practical lifestyle products and services for people with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities, she held the position of Chief Administration Officer at Group Voyagers, Inc., an international travel company based in Littleton, CO.

 

Before her arrival at Tennyson, Kathryn served as President/CEO at Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, an organization providing critical home repairs and safety education for low-income and at-risk homeowners throughout the multi-county metro region.

 

Kathryn holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.  She has previously served on the Boards of Directors for Community Health Charities as Vice Chair, and Easter Seals Colorado as Chair of the Governance Committee. Kathryn also served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners as Vice President. 

 

Kathryn was a finalist two consecutive years for the Outstanding Business Woman of the Year, sponsored annually by the Denver Business Journal.

 

Whenever there is a free moment, Kathryn writes, including poetry, short stories, essays, articles, and web logs. Kathryn’s writings have appeared regularly in literary magazines, print publications, and online.  Later this year a small literary press will publish Kathryn’s first collection of poetry.

 

She lives in Lakewood with her spouse, Pam.  They have two daughters and six grandchildren.

 

Dr. Arbour will officially start in her position on May 31, giving her time to work with Rebecca to ensure a smooth onboarding experience and transition.
