The evening of the Imagine! Celebration, January 30th, 2021, moved smoothly, thanks to so much behind-the-scenes effort that began last September when the decision to go virtual was made. The Imagine! staff volunteers, expertly organized by Elizabeth Hill, delivered 259 meals from Centro (Big Red F) to 32 locations. At Blackbelly, VIP Guests picked up 35 charcuteries! – A big shout-out to both Hosea Rosenberg at Blackbelly and Dave Query at Big Red F for providing the food for this evening.
The show started early and ended early – what a whirlwind! Zoe Polk and Patti Micklin started the show off with conversational clips that were interspersed during the pre-show, and both were incredible! Jana Peterson led the main show like a pro, with the natural grace that she brought to last year's Imagine! Celebration. Eventually, she brought George Karakehian onto the floor, and even virtually his emotion was palpable. The impact of the video and George’s remarks exceeded all fundraising expectations! He brought in Bob Charles’ and Susan LaHoda’s history in our 20th year so kindly – everyone at Imagine! is so very grateful for their vision, passion, and legacy.
MassFXMedia phenomenally helped bring together three past powerful stories to share the arc of life milestones of Imagine! clients along with where they are now – and wasn’t Ben Tyler beyond precious at the end? Fred Hobbs and Cara Sheridan, part of Imagine!’s Public Relations department, created so many incredible videos and print content – including the preshow and postshow, live auction preview, a video for sponsors from Rebecca and the chef at Centro, and the IC2021 program booklet – as well as social media outreach to drive registrations.
Heather Sabo and the Imagine! Celebration Committee put together an auction that was more than double the size of what we thought could be secured, and the bidding was nothing short of ferocious!
All in all, this event was a great success with over $380,000 raised! Thank you again to everyone who participated and helped to support Imagine! and the Imagine! Celebration. You are helping to create a world of opportunity for all abilities!
