Frequently Asked Questions about Imagine!'s Virtual Classes

Have you been curious about Imagine!'s Virtual Classes, but weren't sure where to begin? With so many different classes to choose from, its understandable that it can be a bit overwhelming! Don't worry though! We've compiled an exhaustive list of FAQ's to help you navigate this new program. 1.  What are Imagine! Virtual Classes?

Imagine! offers 40+ classes per week designed for adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each class is facilitated through Zoom and lasts one hour long.

2. What kind of classes do you offer?

Imagine! has made an effort to offer a variety of subjects and activities, appealing to a variety of interests. Art, games, cooking, Spanish class, sign language, cultural studies, healthy living, music, trivia, social hour, self-motivating classes, life skills, and more. With over 40 classes per week, there is something for everyone!

3. How much do the classes cost?

If you are paying privately, classes are $15 per one hour class. For every five classes purchased, you will receive a $10 discount. You can also use credits/units through your state or federal funding sources to pay for the classes. Talk with your Case Manager to discuss using your funding source.

4. Can I take a class if I do not live in Boulder or Broomfield counties?

Imagine! Virtual Classes are available to anyone in the United States!

5. How are virtual classes different from in-person classes?

Virtual classes are delivered using a remote learning platform, allowing you to attend an activity from your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. While this is a different approach than participants are used traditional service delivery method so, our goals of providing enriching activities remain the same. Participants can work on following instructions, increasing communication skills, social skills, motor skills, and other independent living skills designed to build upon their current behavioral repertoire.

6. How will these classes help my family member who has a disability?

Class structure and lesson plans are supported by Imagine!’s Behavioral Services. Each class is designed to teach a set of skills and to encourage positive social behavior. Instructors and support staff are tracking progress and keeping note of how to best support each participant.

7. Who is teaching these classes?

Classes are taught by qualified Imagine! instructors and teachers. Imagine! instructors bring with them experience in the field, knowledge and talents in different areas, and a passion to help each individual we serve be successful. All instructors have been trained to monitor their classes and engage each individual on a personal level. Plus they all have a passion to serve others, which shines through when you observe them running a class and interacting with all of the participants.

8. What can a new participant expect when they show up for the first time?

When an individual decides to join services, they can expect to have the support of a direct support professional to ensure they will enjoy their virtual experience. One of our team members will get them set up and settled into a class that peaks their interest. Staff spend time facilitating check-ins, going over the rules of respecting each other in the class, and providing an experience that is unique to Imagine!'s virtual classes.

 

9. How do I sign up for classes?

10. How do I access my classes?

After registering and paying for classes, you will receive email confirmation from the class instructors the night before. They will provide you with the Zoom link, which grants you access to the class, along with needed materials and a lesson plan.

11. If I don’t like my class, can I use my credit and switch to a different one?

Absolutely. Contact Scott at swendelberger@imaginecolorado.org if you are not satisfied with your virtual class experience, and we will find something that fits your needs and interests.

12. What if I’m sick and cannot attend my class, can I get a refund?

We would be happy to issue you a credit to a different class if you are unable to attend the one you signed up for. If a refund is necessary, we can arrange that as well.

13. What do I need to be able to access these classes?

Internet connection; computer/tablet/smartphone with updated software and equipped with a webcam and microphone; a relatively quiet area in your home while participating in class.

14. Who can I reach out if I am having technical difficulties?
