Services
Imagine!’s School Age Services is working diligently to coordinate alternative Summer Camp services for our participants. On June 1, we launched our first phase of programming which involved one-on-one services for children based out of their homes. Our Therapeutic Team is hosting daily Zoom sessions for all of the participants and staff to convene in one place and connect virtually. Every morning and afternoon we have about 15-20 participants and their staff who log on to Zoom and greet each other with warm welcomes, excitement, and engagement in our weekly theme. During the first week we focused on science and the second week had a Disney theme! As a group, we’ve done science experiments, trivia, movement games, scavenger hunts, art, sing-a-longs, and we even create our own stories together.
Even though this is a very new and different program, our participants and instructors adapted without missing a beat. Every child raises their hand to take turns speaking, takes time to make everyone feel welcome, and shares positive feedback to one another throughout the group time on Zoom. Our instructors working one-on-one are doing an incredible job supporting and advocating for our participants to make sure they all feel heard, which is essential in our time together. Even though we all miss being together in person, our team is highly impressed by how much fun we are all having and the new bonds we are creating even through the screen. We look forward to the day we can give each other fist bumps and high fives, but for now, this will do!
