chris and meagan present

Chris Baumgart and Meagan Little, key members of Imagine!’s tech team, have a busy schedule this week and in the next couple of months.

The two will be presenting at several events and conferences on how Imagine! is using Virtual Reality to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities perform complex work tasks so they may find and maintain meaningful employment.

The goal of these presentations are to demonstrate how Imagine! is working to support individuals to develop job skills through the use of Virtual Reality (VR). Many of the individuals Imagine! supports have a hard time generalizing skills from one environment to the next, and the use of VR allows us to make the environments similar to support with carrying the skills over.

Imagine! is currently collaborating with a company called Reality Garage to help people with I/DD realize their full potential. With Virtual Reality we have worked on creating different aspects within the VR: such as collecting data to see where someone needs help, errorless learning system and prompting hierarchy. All of these allow for use to support the individual to increase their job reality skills within the left-hand worksite.

Upcoming presentations include:

2019 Coleman Conference on Cognitive Disability & Technology, October 16th & 17th.

On the 16th, Chris and Meagan will be participating in a workshop with representatives from companies such as Google, Apple and Amazon to give feedback on current devices we use at Imagine! to support people with I/DD and what would be beneficial for us in the future.

On the 17th, Chris and Meagan will join Brenda Lee (co-founder and CEO of Reality Garage), Bob Ottinger and Ted Selker to discuss using Virtual Reality to support people with cognitive disabilities.

Disability Cocoon Tech:Fest; October 18.

Tech:Fest Colorado is being held in conjunction with the Coleman Institute Annual Conference on Cognitive Disabilities and Technology. Chris and Meagan will be demonstrating the Imagine! VR project.

TEDx Mile High: Imagine!, November 16.

Chris and Meagan will be demonstrating the Imagine! VR project.

Disability Cocoon Webinar, December 12.

A demonstration on how Imagine! supports individuals to develop job skills through the use of Augmented and Virtual reality.

Whew! Chris and Meagan, we get worn out just reading about all the presentations you are doing! Thanks for representing Imagine! and for spreading the word about how VR is revolutionizing the possibilities of employment for people with I/DD.
