Imagine! employee George Waldrop recently wrote a poem about his work, and we thought it was worth sharing on our blog. Thanks, George!
To Care for All Abilities
by: George Waldrop
I need freedom to learn
other people’s expectations are none of my concern
I love to watch individuals achieve basic needs
Each day I come to work is a learning experience.
when we imagine
ourselves in the place of someone else
it is the epitome of empathy
I will learn
it will be hard
I will be vulnerable
I will grow
there will be times of uncertainty
I will talk, ask questions
I will listen
give of myself
stick it out
do my best
share the work load
brave the next shift
welcome a new staff
being a part of a team
asking them about their dreams
again, freedom to learn
I am only in control of myself
every, thought, word and action
communication is key
living up to myself
loving myself enough
being enough
to harness and muster
all my love
to care for all abilities
open-up and let it in
to have a friend is to be a friend
immaculate goodness
like my hero
