Today we’d like to introduce the Imagine! family to Valerie Temple – Imagine!’s new Assistant Director of Client Relations – Early Intervention.

We asked Valerie to share a little information about herself:

“My name is Valerie Temple and I moved to the area last week. My husband and two children are still in Texas and will move here right before school starts. I worked in the Texas Public School system for the past 14 years. The first four I was a Behavior Specialist and Special Education Self-Contained Teacher. After receiving my Master’s degree in Special Education with an Educational Diagnostician Certificate, I spent the last 10 years working as an Educational Diagnostician. In that role I led IEP meetings, helped develop IEPs, and evaluated students for an Intellectual Developmental Delay and Specific Learning Disabilities.

In May 2021, my husband accepted a position at CU Boulder and our family lived apart for the school year. We are all excited to be together again once everyone makes the move to Colorado. I am very excited to begin this new position with Imagine! Even though this position is not in the same setting that I am used to, I am passionate about working with the population that Imagine! serves.

A few things you might want to know about me:

I love reading, especially Young Adult, Middle Grade, and Upper Elementary. If you need a book recommendation, I can probably give you one. After spending 15 years in the secondary setting, I found that I truly love that age range for books.

I really like crossword puzzles.

My husband, David, and I are celebrating our 11^th wedding anniversary at the end of this month.

My children, Lydia (almost 10) and Asher (almost 8), are my life! Lydia wants to be the first female president and Asher wants to be an inventor.”
