Shelly, 45, began accepting services from Imagine! in 2010. She started making art when she was a teenager, and specializes in acrylic paints and markers. Shelly is most inspired by her emotions and how her body feels when she approaches the canvas. She also loves to listen to Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and Drake when she paints. Shelly uses an adaptive handle for her paintbrush and communicates color choices with her dynavox.

Shelly wants the world to know that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t be a capable (and awesome) artist. She’s most proud of the painting she created this summer to support the Black Lives Matter movement. She loves to give art as gifts and would love to learn more painting techniques.
