Imagine!'s Dayspring Services provide quality educational and therapeutic services to support children, families, and the community. We are pretty proud of our Dayspring team and we don’t mind bragging about them! So today, we want to honor Sara Ostrom. See below for a brief interview with Sara to learn more about her and her work.

Title: Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Length of Imagine employment: 26 years

Geographical areas covered: Broomfield and Boulder counties

Brief about background in Early Intervention: In addition to my 26 years of experience with Dayspring/Imagine!, I also work with toddlers and preschoolers at CU. I worked many years in the public school system on their Child Find Team evaluating infants and addressing the sensory, motor, and adaptive needs of preschoolers.

Describe the special skills you bring to EI: I have several decades of experience in early intervention and can address most needs that come up with infants and toddlers that are appropriate for an occupational therapist. My strongest skills are a good match for children who are born prematurely, small for gestational age, or who have a syndrome or condition that may impact multiple areas of development such as cerebral palsy or Down syndrome. I specialize in feeding and have taken multiple relevant courses and completed the CLC lactation consultant training and am confident about my skills to support motor delays as well. I am an experienced group facilitator and created/lead the Dayspring community activities.

Your favorite pasttime/hobby/reading material/skills:  My absolute favorite pastime is spending time with my family! However, I also LOVE to dance, sing, and read, (which all come in handy when working with babies and toddlers). Travelling is a big priority for me and I have been to many countries and all 50 states. During the pandemic, we began camping in the tiniest camper you can imagine! But, my favorite topic is young children and feel so privileged to interact with all of the wonderful families I have had the opportunity to work with as a Dayspring therapist!

Given the choice of being anywhere in the world, where would you be? : My favorite place to be is anywhere with my husband and children! Some of my favorite geographical places are Santorini, Kyoto, or spending a day with elephants in Thailand.
