Imagine! Partners with Property Development Company

In this time of uncertainty, we at Imagine! don’t want to forget that there are still lots of great things happening at our organization: amazing employees doing awesome work, people in services contributing in ways big and small, and lots of support and love from our community. We’d be doing everyone a disservice if we didn’t keep sharing these great stories.

Imagine! is proud of the many community and business partnerships we have established over the years, because our mission of creating a world of opportunity for all abilities cannot be achieved alone. It takes a village, a community. We would like to highlight one business partner in particular who has been an incredible support to Imagine! and those we serve.

Family owned commercial real estate development company Chernoff Boulder Properties has leased building space to Imagine! since 2016. “We acquired three properties in Longmont a few years ago and Imagine! was a tenant in one of them,” said CEO Seth Chernoff. This building was home to one of Imagine!’s day sites that facilitates our Community and Employment services for adults with developmental disabilities. “We were embarrassed by the condition of the carpeting, walls, and paint, and wanted to work with Imagine! to fix it up.” In fall of 2018, Seth helped Imagine! move this program into a new building across the street. “We installed bulletproof Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring, wall corner protectors, and other elements to make the unit representative of their mission AND hopefully able to handle the daily impact required,” said Seth.

Seth and his family have experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. “I love Imagine!’s mission,” said Seth. “We are grateful for the small part we play in Imagine!’s success and want to see them grow their reach while continuing to positively and powerfully impact our communities.”

When seeking a building to host activities and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, additional factors and variables come into play regarding accessibility. “Seth and his team have worked hard to make sure that we have a space that’s tailored to our needs for now and the future,” said Jeff Near, Program Manager of Imagine!’s Community and Employment Services.

Jeff oversees two sites that facilitate Imagine!’s Community and Employment Services, including the one in Longmont. When the other site recently moved from Boulder to Lafayette due to an expiring lease, Chernoff Boulder Properties played a major role in ensuring a smooth transition. In 2019, Jeff and his team were running out of affordable options when seeking a new building that met their needs. Jeff reached out to Seth for support and he immediately started to look at spaces for Jeff’s program. In the end, Chernoff Boulder Properties bought a property in Lafayette and leased it to Imagine!, which happens to be one block from both of our administration buildings. Up against a tight deadline, Seth and his crew hustled to get the building ready for Imagine! and those we serve before we vacated the old building.

Despite the demanding and ever increasing market, “Seth worked with our limited budget and has been patient and receptive to anything we’ve asked of him,” said Jeff. “He has been an incredibly valuable partner and we owe him a great deal of appreciation for his support.”

Imagine! is grateful for our partnership with Chernoff Boulder Properties and their teamwork in making a positive difference in our community. Thank you!
