Joey accepts services from Imagine! and is currently looking for a job with the help of Imagine! Employment Services. He was out and about one Friday afternoon looking for job opportunities with his Imagine! Employment Specialist Cait Phillips, when he spotted a very large Coca-Cola truck. Coke being his favorite soda, Joey immediately got excited and Cait took a photo of him standing in front of the enormous moving billboard.
Whilst snapping the photo, the driver was walking back to his truck and noticed Joey and Cait having a photoshoot. “Oh, he needs to sit in the cab of the truck,” said the truck driver, motioning to Joey. A few moments later, Joey was sitting tall and proud in the driver’s seat and tooting the loud horn. “You look great up there!” The driver said to Joey.
“Ever since Joey spotted the Coca-Cola truck, he was constantly giggling and grinning from ear to ear,” said Cait. “The driver was super nice, had a sweet interaction with Joey, and I could tell it made Joey’s day.” Afterwards, Joey and Cait continued their job hunt and found some good leads!
While this community interaction occurred spontaneously, it certainly did not happen by accident. Imagine! prides itself on providing community-based activities and opportunities for those we serve, giving them a better chance to engage with their community and build meaningful connections. That afternoon, Joey had embarked on a journey to learn more about the job market and how he fits into it. The kind truck driver arrived to reiterate the fact that Joey can fit in however he chooses to.
