Here’s a success story from Imagine! that demonstrates why our services are so vital to our community and to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“D” recently moved into an independent apartment and things are going really well! He has been with Imagine! since he was little and services have varied over the years. For a time, D was really struggling with Supported Living Services and living with his mom was a big challenge. Since D was enrolled on the DD waiver with the support of Imagine!’s Case Management team, he has made exceptional strides toward achieving several of his big goals. D has learned to drive, gotten his driver’s license, and now has his own car. D is also working toward taking classes to get his EMT certification to be able to be a volunteer firefighter/EMT. D is also almost to a point where he no longer needs therapy, as the DD waiver has allowed D to live in a clean, healthy environment, and he has worked hard to ensure that he is successful in his home, his job, and in the community. He works at Sprouts, and has for 7 years. D has worked incredibly hard to get to where he is at today, and serves as an inspiration to all of us at Imagine!.
