John Nevins, Imagine!’s longtime Chief Financial Officer, is retiring from Imagine! after 22 years of service to our organization.
When John began his career here, we served 1,100 people, our headquarters were in a cramped building on Iris St. in Boulder, and we were called the Developmental Disabilities Center.
Fast forward to 2019, and the DDC is now Imagine!, we have our administrative headquarters at two buildings in Lafayette, and last year we served close to 4,300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
It is not an exaggerating in the slightest to say that none of that growth would have been possible without John’s fiscal stewardship of our organization. We operate in an environment where funds are scarce and complex rules and regulations are plentiful. Despite that, every year John navigated those challenges with a calm and composed determination, consistently putting us in the position to be able to grow as an organization, not only in the number of people we served, but also in the number of forward thinking and creative ways we provided those services.
It is hard to imagine Imagine! without John’s quiet, dignified guidance in maintaining our financial well-being. His efforts have helped countless Boulder and Broomfield county citizens with I/DD to achieve their full potential. He will be greatly missed.
We hope you will join us March 17, 4-6PM, at the Post Brewing Company in Lafayette to thank John for his service and in wishing him well as he travels, skis, and bikes his way into a healthy and well-deserved retirement.
All are welcome, but please RSVP to caroline@imaginecolorado.org so we know to expect you.
