We would like to recognize Scott, a Longmont resident who uses Imagine!’s Employment Services. Scott recently took a big step outside of his comfort zone and applied for a job on his own. Initially, he was nervous about the interview, but took the time to practice talking points and etiquette with his Imagine! Job Coach. Scott nailed the interview and is now a new employee at Walgreens!
Scott has been around the employment block for several years and has experience working at Left Hand Brewery and Avery Brewing Company. These jobs were part of Imagine!’s Group Employment program, allowing Scott to work alongside his peers on an as needed basis through contracts that Imagine! has established with these businesses. Scott still maintains employment at Avery, alongside his Walgreens gig, because he enjoys the social environment too much to let go.
Scott realized, though, that at some point he would need to move on and attain work on his own, and not only through an Imagine! contract. Achieving independent employment is an important factor in demonstrating independence, something all of us long for.
We admire Scott’s compassion for teamwork and building comradery with his co-workers, and also his ambition to pave his own path and start a brand new job.
