Tragically, in the history of our State, people with disabilities were locked away in institutions, and separated from society, without much support or care. So, in 1963, when a group of caring parents came together and said “Enough is enough. We cannot continue to stand by while people of our community are treated so unfairly,” Imagine! was formed. From that day forward, Imagine! has worked to build a variety of community-centered services based on the principles of diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion – to create a place of belonging.

 

We at Imagine! believe that a diverse workforce helps our entire community through fresh ideas and perspectives, opportunities for innovation, and better practices that spring from a variety of experiences. We cannot do our best for people with disabilities in Boulder and Broomfield counties without the active involvement of many different people, and us honoring their unique talents, gifts, and knowledge.
