Assistive Technology

We get creative to provide unique supports for Imagine! individuals!

Imagine!'s Social Enterprise department plays a vital role in supporting our Community Services department. We specialize in providing adaptive solutions for in-class activities and offer dedicated assistive technology assistants for individuals on a caseload basis. Our mission is to empower these individuals to achieve greater independence within the program. The Assistive Technology Team supports the implementation of adaptive recreation, cooking and art equipment. Individuals also receive communication support via low-tech materials or AAC devices.

Within our School Age Services, we provide comprehensive support to children both in group activities and on an individualized caseload basis. Our dedicated team offers a wide range of assistive technology supports, including devices and tools tailored to enhance fine motor skills, communication, and engagement in recreational activities. We also provide guidance and assistance in developing essential life skills, utilizing innovative assistive technologies. Our goal is to ensure that each child receives the specialized support they need to thrive and reach their full potential.

Imagine!’s Residential Services are supported by advanced technology to strengthen independence, self-advocacy, communication, and self-sufficiency. We support residential services by providing assistive technology adaptations that enhance daily life skills within individuals' home environments.

Imagine! is thinking outside the box and implementing technology solutions as part of our Employment Services. In a world influenced by modern technology, Imagine! strives to take advantage of appropriate tech supports so that each individual is put in the best position possible to succeed. The Team works with community partners to create virtual reality environments where individuals can experience potential job sites through a headset. This allows individuals to immerse themselves in the surrounding environment and try various job tasks to determine strengths and challenge areas they might experience on the job. We also provide additional support based on work-site accommodations.

Additional Supports

The Assistive Technology Team also spends time designing and creating custom, adaptive materials and sensory items for individuals using 3D printer technology. The Team is constantly thinking outside the box and learning new skills like soldering and wiring, to create switch-adaptive electronics and toys for individuals to utilize.
